18th Annual Low German Networking Conference

There’s still room to register for the 2015 Annual Low German Networking Conference!

This conference is particularly helpful for service providers to understand the religious and cultural implications of working with the Low German populations.

Workshops include Adult Mental Health in a Cultural Context,Low German 101, Making Connections in Public Health and more.

This year, the conference will be available in two different locations on two separate dates: May 7 in Aylmer, and May 20 in Leamington.

MCS Auction Promotion Dinner

Did you attend last year’s MCS Auction Promotion Dinner? If not, you will definitely not want to miss it this year! A scrumptious dinner will be served featuring both Mennonite and traditional fare. Avril Saunders Currie – educator, administrator, community organizer and volunteer, PhD. Candidate, and friend of MCS – will be the Guest Speaker.

This fundraiser dinner is taking place on Saturday, May 30, 2015, dinner served at 6pm, at the Sommerfeld Menonnite Church in Mt. Salem.  Tickets are now available for sale at the Aylmer Resource Centre front desk, 16 Talbot St. E, Aylmer. Tickets are $30/person, or $200 per 8-seat table. Come enjoy this great evening of food and fellowship and contribute to the work of Mennonite Community Services in our community!

Funeral for Jake Wall

The funeral for Jake Wall is on Tuesday, January 27 at 1:00pm at the Aylmer Evangelical Mennonite Mission Church (AEMMC), 50619 Talbot Line, Aylmer. The funeral will be closed casket and the audio will be broadcast on our radio, CHPD 105.9 De Brigj, as well as live streamed on our website. The funeral will also be video live streamed from the church at 1pm local time on Tuesday. The link for the live streaming video is

If the maximum capacity at EMMC is reached, those who arrive for the funeral will be directed to the Sommerfeld Mennonite church in Mount Salem (6700 Springfield Rd. RR#6 Aylmer, ON, N5H 2R5) as it will be set up with video to watch the funeral.
