Aylmer Community Services - 25 Centre St

Purpose:

Employment Services helps people in our community find work and helps employers find people.  MCS is able to assist Low German speaking people and the broader community in accessing Employment Ontario programs.

Programs:

Second Careers  Qualified people can access government funding to get training for a new career through college and professional schools programs.  With a clear post-secondary plan, clients can also access funding to get their grade 12 diploma.

Ontario Self Employment Benefit   Qualified people can access income and planning supports while starting up a new business.  Participants receive Employment Insurance income while setting up their business. They also receive support from professional business consultants in developing a business plan.

Job Creation Program   Clients who have a current or recent Employment Insurance claim are eligible for a number of skill-building EI-funded placements.  These placements are designed to help people gain experience in new fields of employment in order to become more employable.

Job Search Support and Workshops   Job seekers get help and advice on all aspects of finding and keeping a job. Clients receive help with resumes, cover letters, interviews, cold calls, networking, online job searches, portfolios, etc., through counseling and workshops.  When needed, clients are also referred to community partners for special needs, income support, legal issues, and skills and educational assessments.

Employer Support   Employers can advertise job postings and receive assistance in obtaining resumes from qualified people for their openings.  Employers may also be eligible for funding to help cover training and apprenticeship costs.
